About

Hi, I'm Marguerite Mooers.

I worked as a teacher in a medium security prison in upstate New York before retiring to write (you guessed it) murder mysteries. I began my writing career writing short stories and poems, a number of which have been published and won awards.

Several years ago, the murder of a child in my home town, prompted me to write her first novel Take My Hand (2014) which features Detective Chris Bellini, and also has a character who works in a medium security prison. In addition to writing, I am a watercolorist and and watercolor teacher. I'm the doting grandmother of four, and loving wife (of many years) to Richard. Together we are active in a local lifelong learning organization, as well as being hikers, kayackers and travelers. Writing keeps me active, and crafting interesting murder mysteries, keeps me from getting bored.
